About Foundations

One week of training, a lifetime's worth of understanding.

Foundations is an intensive training course that equips you to live the deep truth of the Christian faith in every area of life.

While the whole course works together to produce a deep understanding of a practical Christian worldview, you will receive specific skills in a range of areas including:

  • Managing complicated relationships
  • Knowing God's will
  • Building healthy teams
  • Developing life-giving habits
  • Finding your place in leadership
  • Sharing your faith
  • Understanding the whole biblical story
  • Managing sexuality in a healthy way
  • Listening *Community Development

Four streams available:

1) Youth Foundations (for secondary students) which includes an overnight hike and camp.

2) Standard Foundations

3) Foundations Trainee Trainer (for those who have finished at least one course)

4) Discount for previous students.

Trainers include:

Matt Garvin

Matt served with mission organisation Fusion for two decades. In 2013 Matt moved into pastoral ministry with St. Albert Alliance church in Canada, and in 2017 he and his family moved back to Tasmania where he now serves as the Senior Pastor of Citywide Baptist church. He has written two books and has a blog (faithreflections.org)

David Campbell

David has been a missionary in Jamaica for more than two decades. An Englishman who speaks fluent Patois and extensive experience ministering to the complex, gang controlled, inner city of Kingston, David brings a unique perspective to what it means to live faith on the edge

Elizabeth Campbell

Liz is a missionary, teacher, author and mother who serves with her husband, David, in Jamaica. After returning from two years in Indonesia, Liz developed the Youth Foundations course which has impacted the lives of hundreds of students around the world.

Daniel Hutchison

Dan is the Associate Pastor of Citywide Baptist church and oversights our small groups and Youth. He has a love for the Australian bush and introducing people to God through the majesty of nature.

Madeline Garvin

Maddi has been part of Foundations courses in Australia and Europe and has been part of leading Youth Foundations for many years. She is part way through a Masters in Social Work and is also part of the Fusion Bendigo frontline youthwork team.

Sunday 3 pm - 9 pm at Citywide Lenah Valley, 2 Pottery Road

Monday to Friday 9 am - 9 pm at Citywide Lenah Valley, 2 Pottery Road

Saturday 9am - 7pm at Citywide Mornington, 400 Cambridge Road

Foundations trainee trainers will meet from 9am - 12pm on Saturday 19 January, and from 1:00 pm on Sunday 20th January.

Billet Accomodation available for non Hobart residents

The registration process allows for a $10 deposit with the balance to be paid at the commencement of the course.
